In 2011, the idea that became Udacity was sparked when Drs. Sebastian Thrun and Peter Norvig put their Stanford class CS223 “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” online. In 2014, Udacity launched Nanodegree® programs with project-based curriculum and reviewer feedback alongside online coursework. In 2016, Udacity launched its first Artificial Intelligence Nanodegree program. Since then, the we’ve company has built a comprehensive catalog of AI programs, projects, and courses in collaboration with industry and academic leaders.
Today – almost ten years after the first Nanodegree programs – we’re launching the Udacity Generative AI Nanodegree program is launching. To meet the demands of an era where GenAI will reshape nearly every industry and functional area, this program equips technical professionals with essential skills to branch out into this dynamic and rapidly growing field.
According to a recent study led by the Oxford Internet Institute, “AI skills are particularly valuable as they have high levels of skill complementarity, increasing worker wages by 21% on average.” To capitalize on the Generative AI opportunity – for business as well as individual benefit – learning about various GenAI techniques is not sufficient; professionals must be inspired by the many use cases for GenAI in the business, and must gain experience in putting that knowledge into practice within organizational contexts.
AI skills are particularly valuable as they have high levels of skill complementarity, increasing worker wages by 21% on average.
Taught by instructors from Advocate, Cape Analytics, DeepMind, LanceDB, Meta, NVIDIA, rocketship.vc, SoFi, and UC Berkeley, students not only gain a comprehensive understanding of Generative AI, but have the opportunity to complete capstone projects modeled on the real-life tasks and challenges of using GenAI in professional contexts. Moreover, unlike the majority of the asynchronous GenAI courses out there today, Udacity students have the opportunity to receive substantive feedback on their projects from experienced mentors. As such, graduates of the program will be equipped to:
The program including all projects is now instantly available to All Access subscribers, along with our entire content library of 80+ Nanodegree programs, 350+ courses, 370+ real-world projects, and 2,500+ skills.
The Generative AI Nanodegree program has prerequisites of intermediate Python and SQL programming skills and is a more technical and hands-on complement to the Generative AI for Business Leaders course that I teach which launched last month.
And for those who want to start approaching generative AI subject matter at a conceptual level, our new Generative AI Fluency course will give learners a foundational understanding of the key concepts, basic terminology, and typical applications of generative AI.
Knowledge and training are critical to capturing the opportunities that Generative AI creates. Whether you want to build GenAI applications or put them to work in your business, project-based online learning is the fastest way to get everyone up to speed.
From engineers to executives, Udacity’s suite of Generative AI programs will help you bridge the gap from imagination to impact. To learn more and get started visit the Udacity Generative AI page here.
