[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]Udacity’s strong mentor network is one of the reasons our students successfully complete their Nanodegree programs. Our global mentor network enables problem-solving and program completion and underscores one of Udacity’s core values — Students First!
To celebrate our mentors, we organized a three-day-long virtual summit. The event was open to our global mentor community, and the conference included career and personal growth sessions.
More than 300 global mentors attended the virtual conference, and we featured over 40 speakers from companies like Capital One, Pandora, Chartio and more. We kicked off the event with a discussion about the future of online education at Udacity led by our CEO, Gabe Dalporto.
“Our mentors represent Udacity to our students every single day. In fact, they are one of the key reasons why our students say that Udacity is one of the best upskilling platforms out there,” said Gabe during a fireside chat with Nick Blumenthal, Senior Manager – Mentor Operations at Udacity and Meaghan Shanahan, Manager – Mentor Operations at Udacity.
Furthermore, we discussed topics like the lifecycle of a Udacity Nanodegree program, Udacity’s mission and values, effective professional communication and more during the three-day long event.
The mentors also benefited from career coaching sessions, and the community requested discussions on the future of AI, programming and data science.
Udacity’s founder, Sebastian Thrun, wrapped up the virtual conference and spoke about the future of tech.
“You [Udacity Mentors] are my heroes. You are helping to make the world a better place and double the world’s GDP. You are a part of Udacity’s mission,” he said, applauding the mentors for going above and beyond for Udacity students.
If you missed this year’s Mentor Summit, then you can watch all the recorded sessions here. Don’t miss out on the surprise at the end of the third day!
